“The finest minor league facility in the nation…is clearly related to the dedication, skill and professionalism which you provided.”
STEPHEN REED, MAYOR HARRISBURG, PA

“The Surgery Center was completed 42 days ahead of schedule due to the skill and organization of Miller Brothers and its subcontractors. It was a pleasure to work with you.”
LAWRENCE M. GARRITY, PROJECT ARCHITECT

“I commend you… Rehabilitation of historic structures is certainly one of the most difficult and complex types of design and reconstruction projects.”
DR. JOHN LATSCHAR, SUPERINTENDENT, U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR

“Thank you for making our dream a reality.”
JACK BERTOLET, J. BERTOLET VOLKSWAGEN

In 1976, Jim Miller left his job with a general contractor to co-found his own construction company. “We didn’t have a big, elaborate mission,” recalls Jim, who still serves as president of the company. “Our philosophy was simply to deliver the best work possible at a fair price, whether the job was big or small.”

By 1979, Jim Miller and his growing team were renovating a barn in Cressona, PA, to become the home for Miller Bros. Construction, Inc. As their reputation grew beyond Schuylkill County, so did the size of their projects and the staff. Within 20 years, their portfolio included projects throughout Pennsylvania; a sister company, MBC Development, LP, was formed to handle the growing real estate development and leasing side of their business; their staff numbered over 80, and they had outgrown their 4,500 SF offices. In 2002, they purchased and renovated the former Anthracite Research Center that more recently served as a dormitory for the Penn State, Schuylkill campus.

Today Miller Bros Construction Inc. typically has 15 projects in the works at any given time. The staff may number 100+, but they continue to work together as a team, and their philosophy remains unchanged. They are widely recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s premier construction companies and for their ability to handle large, high profile construction projects, but they also continue to take pride in relatively minor renovations and repairs.

“Relationships with some of our biggest customers began years ago as small projects,” notes Jim. “We didn't set out to be a big construction company. We just grew one job at a time, and by hiring the right employees one at a time.”
